Phantom Resume Builder ("we", "us") is a resume-building tool: templates, a live preview, AI writing help, and PDF export. This page explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

What we collect

• Account info: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password itself.
• Resume content: everything you type into the editor (work history, education, skills, etc.), and any resume file you upload to import.
• Usage and device info: IP address and basic request metadata, used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
• A session cookie/token used to keep you signed in.
• Advertising cookies: Phantom Resume Builder may show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. How we use it

To run the service you asked for: storing your resume so you can come back to it, rendering the live preview, generating the PDF you export, and powering the optional AI writing suggestions (bullet point improvements, summaries, skill suggestions). To prevent abuse of free accounts. To show ads through Google AdSense.

Where your data runs

This instance of Phantom Resume Builder is self-hosted: your resume content lives in our own database on our own server, not a third-party SaaS backend. The AI writing suggestions run on a model we host ourselves — your resume text is not sent to a third-party AI vendor to generate those suggestions.

How long we keep it, and who can see it

Only you, and authorized staff when needed to operate or secure the service, can access your resumes. Deleting a resume or your account removes the associated data. You can delete individual resumes or your whole account at any time from the dashboard, or ask us to do it by emailing the address below.

Who else sees it

We don't sell your personal data or resume content, and we don't share it with anyone except to provide the service itself. Any ads shown are served by Google AdSense, governed by Google's own privacy policy — we don't pass your resume content to Google or any advertiser.

Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text. All traffic to this site is encrypted (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we don't store anything we don't need to run the service.

Age requirement

Phantom Resume Builderisn't directed at anyone under 13, and account creation requires you to be old enough to enter a legally binding agreement in your jurisdiction. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

You can edit or delete any resume, or delete your whole account, at any time from the dashboard. You can opt out of personalized ads via Google Ads Settings (linked above). For anything else — access, correction, or deletion requests — email us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
